Kidwelly Tithe Schedule
The Tithe Commutation Act of 1836 aimed to replace the much older system of paying Tithes in kind. The method of determing required that
each Parish should prepare a map(showing fields within the Parish ) and seperately a Tithe Schedule ( recording details of land ownership, the
land occupiers, name of field or farm(where known) and the size of holdings by acre,rod and pole.
The survey for the Kidwelly Tithe Map was conducted from 1838 onwards and the Map and Schedule became operative from 1840.
