In the name of God Amen I Walter Mansell of the town of Kidwelly in the county of Carmarthen Gentle. being sick in body but of perfect and disposing memory thanks be to God do make set down and declare my last will and testament in writing in manner and form following. Revoking all other wills heretofore by me made or published.

First I bequeath my soul into the hands into the hands of our Lord God my maker and creator confidently trusting by the merits and passion of his well beloved son Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer to be received into the society of the Saints in heaven and I commend my body to the earth from whence it came to be buried in Christian manner when it shall please God to appoint.

Item I do firstly give and bequeath towards the reparation of the Cathedral Church of St. Davids the sum of one shilling.
Item. I give and bequeath to Anthony Mansell my nephew and son to my brother Anthony Mansell that my tenement of lands in the parish of St. Ishmaels commonly called and known by the name of Maes Gwine and now in the tenure of and occupation of one David Steven to have and to hold to him the said Anthony for and during his natural life and after his decease to my nephew Richard Mansell brother to the first Anthony and his heirs forever.
Item I give and bequeath to my first nephew Anthony Mansell the sum of four score and ten pounds to be given by my executors hereafter named in the space of two years after my decease.
Item I give and bequeath to my niece Mary Mansell and her assigned daughters to my first brother Anthony Mansell that my terms of years upon a certain tenement of lands lying in the parish of Pembrey that I hold from Dame Mary Croftes.
Item I give and bequeath to my first niece Mary Mansell and her assignes that my fearme of feafe hold which I hold from Sir Edward Mansell of Muddlescombe Baronet.
Item I give and bequeath to my niece Katherine Mansell daughter to my brother John Mansell the sum of ten Pounds to be paid by my executors as aforesaid.
Item I give and bequeath to my aforesaid niece that copy hold lands which she already enjoyeth from me one parcel thereof commonly called and known by the name of Park y Prior adjoining to Park y Boxe and the other parcel lying to the town forge.
Item I give and bequeath to my neice Elizabeth Mansell sister to the first Katherine Mansell the sum of ten pounds.
Item To her sister Mary Mansell the sum of five pounds.
ItemTo her sister Rachell the like sum of five pounds.
Item To her brother Edward Mansell the like sum of five pounds to be paid by my executors as aforesaid.
Item To the poor of the parish of St. Mary's of Kidwelly .... ..... ....... ...... parish of St. Ishmael's the sum of one pound.
Item Towards my interment the sum of ten pounds.
Item I give and bequeath to Katherine ....... .......... the sum of forty shillings to buy her a ring.
Item The like sum of forty shillings to my brother Anthony Mansell.
Item The like sum of forty shillings to my sister Mary Mansell.
Item The like sum of forty shillings to my sister Dorothy Davies.
Item The like sum of forty shillings to my sister Anne Carne.
Item The like of forty shillings to my sister Penelope Mansell to buy them rings.
Item I give and bequeath to my nephew Francis Mansell the sum of ten pounds.
Item To my nephew Richard Mansell the sum of five pounds.
Item To my nephew Edward carne the sum of five pounds.
Item to Rachell Bennett of daughter to my cousin John Bennett of Kidwelly the sum of twenty pounds to be paid by my executors as aforesaid.
Item I give to the said Rachell a feather bed and boulster, a pair of blankets, four curtains and valance that I have in keeping ....... Abigail Griffiths.
Item I give and bequeath to the said Abigail Griffiths the sum of five pounds.
Item To David Evans clerk the sum of Fifty shillings.
Item To John Rees my servant the like sum of fifty shillings.
Item To Hugh Rees the sum of forty shillings.
Item To his wife the nurse the sum of forty shillings.
Item To Morris the sum of forty shillings.
Item To John the sum of forty shillings.
Item To Anne the maid the sum of forty shillings.
Item To Elizabeth the maid the sum of twenty shillings.
Item I give and bequeath to my brothers Edward and Robert Mansell all the remainder of my estate and hereditaments, goods, cattles and chattles that shall be over and above the payment of my debts, bequests and legacies and I do hereby nominate and appoint my said dear brothers Edward and Robert Mansell to be the executors of this my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal the 31st day of May in the year of our Lord 1666.

A true and perfect inventory of all the goods, cattles and chattles & credits of Walter Mansell of the parish of Kidwelly in the county of Carmarthen & diocese of St. David's gentle late deceased. Priced at Kidwelly aforesaid by Richard Mansell and Morris Davids gent. the 8th day of June one thousand six hundred sixty and six as followeth.
